Orange with Black Stripes

Rachelle and I are sleeping well. No more jet lag. I feel like I could sleep until 11AM, but choose not to because that would be a waste of time. We go to a place called N House for breakfast. We had been there for lunch two days ago after the tour-selling lady recommended it. It's really good food and cheap. A nice older Thai lady owns it and does all the cooking. Rachelle and I both have omelettes because we can't handle rice or noodles that early in the day like the locals do. Rachelle is excited because today we are going to the Tiger Kingdom where there are baby tigers. She likes little cute things.

We find our own taxi to take us there. We agree on a return journey for 500 Baht. Here taxis will happily wait for you for as long as it takes - like having a personal chauffeur. We get to the Tiger Kingdom and buy tickets to go into the baby tiger and big tiger cages. The baby ones are the most expensive because they are the most popular, but Rachelle really wants to see them so it's worth it. We do those first and they are very cute. Only 1 to 2 months old and most are sleeping (they sleep 18 hours a day at that age) but one is wide awake and very playful. I get given a tiger whisker by one of the staff, but later, I sadly lose it.

Stroking and taking photos was great and Rachelle was happy. We look around the tiger park for a while. It's quite small so doesn't take too long, but the tigers are amazing. We then go into the big tiger cage where there are three tigers. There are a lot more rules with the big ones, as you might expect. Again, we stroke and take photos with them. I even get to lie on the one that's sleeping. Nothing like this would be allowed back home.

We find our taxi driver and we ask him about anything else that we could do, preferably for free. He takes us to three places; a silk shop, silver shop and cashmere shop. The silk shop and silver shop both show you how it's all made - this is the free part - and then hope that this will encourage you to buy when you end up in the actual shop at the end. Of course, we buy nothing. We're only there for the tour part. The last shop was just a shop. The Indian man kept putting scarves and shawls on Rachelle. It was annoying. He also said we look Russian. After that we went home.

After food we find a really nice bar near our guest house. The owners are so friendly, offering us mosquito spray and playing cards to use. The prices weren't bad either. I wrote up some of my journal there. It played good music, including Peal Jam for Rachelle.
